GWS captain Toby Greene is out to redeem himself after a more-than-quiet performance in Saturday's qualifying loss to Sydney.

For just the fourth time this season - and second on Swans defender Dane Rampe - Greene was kept goalless as the Giants skipper failed to find the big sticks.

The "shattered" 30-year-old had multiple chances throughout the mouth-watering contest but failed to stand up in the big moments.

โ€œI was super flat missing those goals, especially when we could have gone up by a bit, and we probably missed a couple of easy set shots as well," Greene said.

"But that's footy, and that's why you practice it every week.

โ€œI'll hold myself on it and put time and effort into getting better. It's never something I take for granted, taking shots on goal. I want to make the most of them, and hopefully I can.โ€

The lofty standards that Greene is held to don't weigh down the 2023 All-Australian captain, saying he just wants to perform his role.

"I'm not expected to do anything special. I'm just playing my role," Greene added.

"I don't really feel any extra pressure, to be honest. I want to perform as well as I can, be the best leader I can be as well. That's my goal for the next three weeks.

"I know what's required, and I know what I'll do.

"There's 18 other blokes that know what they're doing as well."

For the most part, the Giants were faultless in their performance against the Swans.

Leading by 21 points at three-quarter time and curbing the influence of prime movers Chad Warner and Errol Gulden was a tick for Adam Kingsley.

But a final-term fadeout cost the AFL's newest team a week off and a home preliminary final.

Instead, they face a rampaging Brisbane outfit at Engie Stadium on Saturday.

โ€œWe were pretty flat in the rooms after the game, and everyone had every right to be,โ€ Greene said.

"We felt like we probably played the right way for 90 per cent of the game, we just got to put it back up to 100 per cent."

Lions defender Brandon Starcevich will be sent to Greene, given his recent success - limiting the Giants match-winner to four touches and a goal in Round 22.

GWS will be boosted by the return of Toby Bedford, while the selection call surrounding Jake Riccardi and Lachie Keeffe still has plenty of intrigue.
